LOTOS Asfalt is the only company on the Polish market to sell its bitumen products through a dedicated mobile application.

Over one hundred orders for LOTOS Asfalt bitumens have been placed via smartphones so far. The mSprzedaż application is available for mobile Android devices, but the company plans to roll it out to devices using other operating systems as well.

We have implemented the mSprzedaż system to make bitumen purchasing easier for our customers,” says Marek Skalski, Chief Financial Officer at LOTOS Asfalt. “With mSprzedaż, our customers may purchase our products via smartphones and tablets. All they have to do is sign a relevant agreement and install the app.

The number of tablet and smartphone users is growing fast in Poland and around the world. According to a recent study, more than 40% of Poles use mobile devices. The development of dedicated mobile apps is a natural consequence of this trend.

We have received positive feedback from customers who have installed the mSprzedaż application on their devices and can now make purchases and track their orders from any place,” explains Romana Rogaczewska, Senior Specialist at the Logistics Office of LOTOS Asfalt. “Over one hundred orders for bitumens have been placed via our mobile platform so far.

With the mSprzedaż app, customers may place orders using a tablet or smartphone running the Android system. They can also track their orders via the app. The company's next step will be to roll out mSprzedaż to other mobile systems, including Apple iOS (iPhones and iPads).

The app is an extension of the e-commerce system in place at LOTOS Asfalt since 2007. The eSprzedaż system allows customers to place and track their orders, view their invoices, plan their purchases, create reports, and receive transaction details.

Over the past ten years (from 2004 to 2014) LOTOS Asfalt has sold some 8 million tonnes of bitumens (including 1.3 million tonnes of modified bitumens). Its products were used to build and modernise 9,000 kilometres of roads, including A1, A2 and A4 motorways and S3, S7, S8 and S17 express-ways.

LOTOS Asfalt was established in Gdańsk. In June 2004, it took over the employees and bitumen assets of the Jasło refinery, and in July 2005 it acquired the bitumens unit from the former Czechowice-Dziedzice refinery. Today, the company owns three production plants, which manufacture road bitumens (regular and modified), as well as emulsions and other specialised bitumen products. Domestic sales represent around 70% of LOTOS Asfalt's total sales, with exports accounting for the other 30%.
