General

The Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) inspected one in every seven LOTOS service stations. In each case, the quality of fuels at the pump met the required standards.

Between January 18th and December 31st 2016, employees of the Trade Inspection Authority,
on instructions from UOKiK, examined 31 samples of gasolines and 36 samples of diesel oil sold through the LOTOS retail chain.

Efforts to ensure quality begin at the producer's site, that is at Grupa LOTOS S.A.'s refinery in Gdańsk, which is one of the world's most advanced facilities of this type. In the next stage, fuels are transported to storage depots located throughout the country, all of which are compliant with the strict requirements of Polish and EU laws. Transport from the refinery to depots is handled by
a specialised company LOTOS Kolej – Poland's second largest railway carrier. From there, fuels are collected by road tankers and carried to individual service stations. Since 2013, LOTOS Paliwa's fleet of road tankers has been equipped with a cutting edge security system, which includes electronic tanker protection, geolocation-based route tracking and video surveillance.
