Due to the deterioration of REBCO quality parameters, the Ministry of Energy decided to halt its supplies at the Adamowo connection point. Grupa LOTOS S.A.’s existing stocks of crude oil allow it to maintain continuity of production at the Gdańsk refinery. The situation has no impact on the quality of fuels sold at LOTOS service stations.

On April 19th, PERN S.A., the operator of the Polish section of the Druzhba pipeline, was notified by the Belarussian Gomeltransneft of increased concentrations of organic chlorides in the oil supplied to Belarus from Russia. The concentrations were above permitted limits also in the oil transported to Poland. As this level of contamination may cause physical damage to the refinery units, a decision to suspend the oil supplies was made.

To protect the Polish transmission system and refinery units, the off-take of contaminated crude oil at the Adamowo connection point (on the Polish-Belarusian border) was suspended. Crude oil stocks will be used to ensure the continuity of oil processing and supply of fuels to the Polish market until the cause of the problem is explained and the Polish transmission system is cleansed. If the disruption of supplies continues for a longer time, crude oil for Polish refineries will be imported via an alternative route, through the Naftoport terminal in Gdańsk. The Company is analysing every scenario to ensure continuous supplies of crude oil of appropriate quality in the long term.

The situation has no impact either on the availability or the quality of fuels sold at LOTOS service stations. Fuels sold by the Company meet all requirements and the highest quality standards.
