Supporting talented Polish athletes has been a vital part of Grupa LOTOS’ activities for years. In August 2019, the company signed an agreement that made it the Main Partner of Hubert Hurkacz, ranked among the most promising Polish tennis players of the young generation. The agreement is valid until the end of 2022.

This year’s US Open was the first tournament that saw Mr Hurkacz wear the LOTOS logo. The logo will be placed on his sleeve during the Grand Slam tournaments and also on his chest during other ATP competitions. Mr Hurkacz will also be an ambassador of the LOTOS Rackets National Tennis Promotion Programme for children. The agreement grants LOTOS the right to use the tennis player’s image in its advertising, image-building and promotional activities.

Despite his young age, Mr Hurkacz has a string of sporting achievements under his belt. Experts point to his immense potential, placing him among future world tennis stars. He has confirmed his good form by recently winning his first ATP tournament – Winston-Salem Open. He is the first Polish player since 1982 to have won a singles tournament of this level. He has climbed from the 41st to 35th place in the ATP World Tour ranking, the highest position in his career so far.

At a press conference marking the official start of the partnership, Jarosław Wittstock, Vice President of the Grupa LOTOS Management Board, presented Hubert Hurkacz with a racket bearing the company’s motto “The best doesn’t come from nowhere”.

“Let this racket be the symbol of our partnership. I am happy to see an ambitious tennis player of the young generation to join our sport family. We appreciate the pride displayed by Hubert when he represents Poland in international competitions. He has immense potential. We keep fingers crossed for him and wish him every success in fighting for top spots at grand tennis tournaments,” said Jarosław Wittstock, Vice President of the Grupa LOTOS Management Board.

“I am very proud to join the most prominent Polish athletes supported by Grupa LOTOS. I appreciate and respect the company’s contribution to the development of Polish sports, and I promise to fully commit myself to joint projects that will promote the development of Polish tennis,” said Hubert Hurkacz.

Grupa LOTOS regularly sponsors Polish sports, tennis in particular. In February 2019, the company became a strategic sponsor of the Polish Tennis Association, including the men’s and women’s National Teams, the Youth National Team and the Polish Championships in all age categories. Previously, it collaborated with Agnieszka Radwańska. June saw the official opening of the LOTOS PZT Polish Tour series, around a dozen tournaments held in different parts of the country. In addition to the LOTOS Rackets programme, the company is also the title sponsor of the PZT LOTOS Team – Polish Promising Tennis Players project, created in partnership with the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, and the National Tennis Day, which was held for the second time on August 31st at the PGE National Stadium.
