The Rajd Dolnośląski rally race took place this weekend as the last round of this year's Polish Rally Championship (PRC). The event was an excellent end of the 2012 season for LOTOS Dynamic Rally Team and LOTOS Subaru Poland Rally Team. Also over the weekend, the Rally of Italy was held on the island of Sardegna as the penultimate elimination round of the World Championship, which offered an opportunity for Michał Kościuszko of LOTOS Dynamic Rally Team to fight for the precious points.

LOTOS Dynamic Rally Team, comprising Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Jarek Baran, led the general classification from start to finish, and won on most of the special sections. In addition to the most valuable title of Polish Champions in general classification, they now hold the title of champions in class 2. Excellent results let LOTOS Dynamic Rally Team triumph in the Sponsor Teams classification.

- I am overwhelmed with joy over our success - said Kajetan Kajetanowicz behind the finish line. - The season we have just ended was successful in every way. To tell you the truth, every kilometre driven, every turning passed at the tire traction limit and every race won is the result of extreme effort made by all team members, and of people's commitment and talent. Cooperation, hard work and motivation are the key to success in rally racing. We managed to achieve all of these goals under as Lotos Dynamic Rally Team thanks to the support offered by our partners Lotos Paliwa and Lotos Oil, our fans and our families whose support I can feel the entire time.

Wojtek Chuchała and Kamil Heller as LOTOS Subaru Poland Rally Team were second in the general classification. LOTOS Subaru Poland Rally Team (L-SPRT) had solid times during the entire race and crowned the event with a win on the Radkowska Perła special section rewarded with an impressive cup. Siemanko and his co-driver also won the N group, adding the total possible points to their overall score. The victory made them Polish Champions in the N group one race before season end. The list of successes achieved on the picturesque special sections around Polanica-Zdrój was complemented with the first place in the Producer Classification and the second place among Sponsor Teams.

- We are dealing here with the biggest surprise of the season. We backed a young and ambitious team and the victory is a powerful confirmation that our choice was right. We are glad to have contributed to their success - commented Jacek Neska, LOTOS Oil CEO.

- The feeling is great cause we fought to the last special section - said Wojtek Chuchała. - Obviously we were under pressure but we managed to control emotions, which was a great satisfaction to us. It all would not have been possible without our Team, our Partners Subaru Import Polska, LOTOS Oil and its LOTOS Quazar oils, LOTOS Paliwa and its LOTOS Dynamic oils, and without the fans who supported us real strong during the race.

Very difficult routes, sometimes leading through rock slides, with ruts made by the passing of the first car, clouds of dust along the route were the conditions teams had to face during the Rally of Sardegna, the penultimate round of the World Rally Championship. Driving dynamically, Michał Kościuszko and Maciek Szczepaniak arrived sixth and gained 8 points in the PWRC classification. The race was won by Nicolas Fuchs before Marcos Ligato (+30.4) and  Valeriy Gorban (+42.1).

This year's special sections of the Rally of Sardegna proved extremely challenging not only for LOTOS Dynamic Rally Team but for the other drivers, including Sebastian Loeb  and Jari-Matti Latvala. After a wheel rip-off during the second special section, Michał Kościuszko and Maciek Szczepaniak were consistent in making up for the lost time.  Keeping Benito Guerra behind, Michał reduced the difference in scores in the final classification to 11 points before the last round of the World Rally Championship. The showdown will take place during the Rally Catalunya. Guerra is ahead of the other competitors having scored 84 points. Kościuszko now has 73 points, the same as Gorban, who however has fewer race wins than Kościuszko. The race in Spain starts off November 18th.

- We have to win the Rally Catalunya to be able to fight for the title of World Champions - said Michał Kościuszko. - I was hoping to catch up on Benito Guerra by more than 4 points during the Rally of Sardegna. We were driving very fast. We won five special sections and ranked close to the top on the others. We were attacking the entire time but were 10.5 seconds too late to move to the fifth position. If it were not for the wheel rip-off, we would have won the race and become leaders in the PWRC classification. All will then be determined during the Rally Catalunya. Surely emotions will be running high both for the fans and for us.
