Altogether with APA 2008 applied awards LOTOS Norge contests for 10 exploration licenses on the NCS. In 3 of them LOTOS Norge applies as an operator, that is leading company during exploration and development stages. Awards in 20th licensing round are expected to be granted by the Norwegian authorities in the first half of 2009. Initial work efforts in licenses to be granted, related to oil and gas exploration, are expected to take place between 2010-2012.
- We continue our efforts to strenghten LOTOS Norge presence and its E&P activities development on the Norwegian Continental Shelf – says Henrik Carlsen, CEO of LOTOS Norge. – In the scope of submitted applications due to 20th licensing round and APA 2008 we are particularly interested in participating interests 25% - 33%, in all licenses we applied for.
During 20th licensing round LOTOS Norge is applying as a member of several AMI-groups. Partner-companies in the AMI-groups are Skagen 44 AS and Edison International SpA Norwegian Branch. LOTOS is also coooperating with PGNiG Norway and Excel Expro Norway in one AMI-group.
46 offshore companies from all over the world applied for awards within 20th licensing round. Besides LOTOS Norge such companies as i.a. Chevron Norge, ConocoPhillips Skandinavia, Eni Norge, E. ON Ruhrgas Norge, ExxonMobil E&P Nowary, Gaz de France Norge, OMV Norge, Total E&P Norge, StatoilHydro and Norske Shell were listed. According to the licensing round Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy will grant awards in 51 blocks on Norwegian Sea and 28 on Barents Sea. LOTOS E&P Norge AS, a subsidiary of Petrobaltic, started operating in September 2007. The company is supervised by Henrik Carlsen, who have been executing lots of key crude oil and natural gas E&P development projects for 33 years within Statoil (currently StaoilHydro).
LOTOS E&P Norge headquarter is located nearby city of Stavanger – Norwegian capitol of petroleum business. Company’s priority is to ensure interests’ acquisitions in E&P projects carried out on NCS for Grupa LOTOS holding.
