It is an oil company operating both in Poland and abroad, whose businesses consist the upstream and processing of crude oil, as well as wholesale and retail sale of highest quality petroleum products.
Apart from mother company Grupa LOTOS S.A., which manages the state-of-the-art refinery in Gdańsk, the LOTOS capital group comprises over a dozen other companies under the LOTOS brand.
LOTOS capital group is engaged in crude oil exploration and production from Norwegian Continental Shelf, Baltic Sea and onshore hydrocarbon deposits in Lithuania. LOTOS produces and markets products such as unleaded gasoline, diesel oil, gas oil and aviation fuel. LOTOS supplies nearly one-third of the Polish fuel market. LOTOS is also a leading producer of bitumens and lubricants for cars, aircraft, trains, ships, and even military vehicles. LOTOS exports own products to 75 countries around the world.
Currently LOTOS is working on implementation of the EFRA Project (Effective Refining). It means a higher yield of valuable products from each oil barrel processed by entity refinery in Gdańsk. Heavy residues from the refining process will be used more effectively. The project is expected to increase the actual refining margin by some USD 2 per each barrel of processed crude.
