The North European Energy Security Forum is the most prestigious meeting to date of EU representatives, Polish government, businesspeople and energy sector experts from all over the world. The Forum, organised by Windsor Energy Group, a UK think tank, and Grupa LOTOS S.A., will take place in Gdańsk on February 18th - 20th 2010.
The conference will be dedicated to Northern and Central Europe's energy security, with a special focus on the Baltic Sea region. A particular emphasis will be placed on the EU efforts aimed to ensure the region's energy security, as well as the development prospects of energy companies from this part of Europe.
The North European Energy Security Forum is organised by Windsor Energy Group (WEG), a global organization bringing together eminent energy experts. WEG acts as a bridge between the public and private sectors during the implementation of major energy projects around the world. The organisation also provides advisory services. It not only carries out numerous analyses and feasibility studies, but also organises meetings concerning key energy challenges of the contemporary world. The Forum in Gdańsk will be WEG's first conference in Poland.
Grupa LOTOS S.A., a co-organiser of the Forum, has been for many years engaged in efforts aimed at improving Poland's energy security. Paweł Olechnowicz, President of Grupa LOTOS S.A., has called for international cooperation on energy security among politicians, businesspeople and specialist organisations interested in the issue. Such cooperation will increase the effectiveness and feasibility of proposed systemic solutions.
Many important figures have confirmed their participation in the conference, including Lord David Howell, President of WEG (former Secretary of State for Energy, currently the Conservative Party's spokesman on foreign affairs in the House of Lords); professor Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament; Waldemar Pawlak, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy; and senior representatives of the European Union and public administration bodies.
Apart from official panel discussions, the North European Energy Security Forum will offer an excellent opportunity for backstage meetings between industry representatives.
