
The first season of the Kia LOTOS Race is drawing to an end. The last (sixth) round of the Kia Picanto Polish Racing Championship takes place this weekend. For the first time, the race will be held in the Automotodrom Brno, which is where the winners of this year's series will be announced. As many as six drivers have a fighting chance to win the keys to a brand new Kia Picanto.

Bartłomiej Mirecki, the youngest 16-year-old beginner with 592 points, leads the general classification. Zbigniew Łacisz, a.k.a Professor, a seasoned racing driver and the 2008 Kia Picanto Polish Champion, is only two points behind. It is Łacisz who four years ago sealed his previous title in the Brno circuit. Damian Łata is in the third place, 48 points behind the leader. The other contenders for the title of the champion include Filip Tokar with 519 points, Konrad Wróbel (488 points) and Michał Dobrowolski (475 points).
The racing weekend in the Brno Circuit started yesterday with a training session. Two qualifying sessions will be held today. The total times from both races will determine the starting order. The final races will be held on Saturday, September 22nd, from 12:05pm to 2:00pm. Supporters turning up for the Kia Lotos Race will also be able to watch the European R-Cup and Porsche GT3 Challenge.
This season, teams vied to score points in races held in five European venues. The Automotodrom Brno, known also as the Masaryk Ciurciut or Masaryk Ring, is an impressive 5403-metre long track. Big altitude differences and 14 complicated turns guarantee a spectacular final race.
