This tenth ERC and sixth PRC round will consist of 13 special stages, covering a total distance of 233 km. The LOTOS brand will be represented by as many as three teams.
The rally features a super special stage run in Mikołajki. The drivers will compete on that track also during the qualifying stage, which will determine the teams' line-up at the starting line of the first stage. The history of the event, which used to be part of the WRC, dates back to 1921. For many years, Rally Poland had been held in various places of Poland until, in 2005, it was permanently set on the gravel roads of the Warmia and Mazury region.
The Rally Poland's entry list includes 54 teams. Naturally, one of the entrants is the three-time Polish Champion, member of the LOTOS Dynamic Rally Team – Kajetan Kajetanowicz, with his co-driver – Jarosław Baran. - I don't know a driver or a rally fan who would not look forward to each upcoming gravel rally. This year, like in previous years, many of my competitors in Rally Poland have more experience with gravel tracks than I do. My disadvantage, though, did not keep me from winning the event twice in a row. This is one of the reasons why each of our direct rivals wants to beat me especially here, during Rally Poland. We secured the Polish Champion's title already in Košice and, unlike the other teams, I don't need to win the rally – I just want to :) - said Kajetan Kajetanowicz before the run.
Participation of Michał Kościuszko and Maciej Szczepaniak, the second crew from the LOTOS Dynamic Rally Team, normally competing in the World Championship, comes as some surprise. - Our entry in this year's Rally Poland is a perfect opportunity to show off our abilities before Polish fans. It will also be our final practice before the WRC round, which is a key event for us. I'm very glad that my first rally in a Ford Fiesta RRC will be on gravel tracks across the Mazury region. Fiesta has always been a lot of fun to drive, and after the recent tests with Markko Martin and the completed rally in Italy, the choice was pretty obvious. I hope that our start in a Ford Fiesta RRC will be very exciting for fans to watch and for us to experience - said Michał Kościuszko.
We will also have a chance to admire representatives of the LOTOS Subaru Poland Rally Team, Wojtek Chuchała and Kamil Heller. - We have waited for Rally Poland, this great sporting event, a whole year. The rally in Mikołajki always attracts a lot of fast drivers from various countries, so the competition will surely be fierce. We intend to have lots of fun driving at breakneck speeds on the gravel tracks, only to catch some air over crests. Though a year ago we had a dangerous landing after one of such jumps, I hope this year will be better, as had a chance to consult captain Wrona himself during this year's edition of the Galaxy Rally, an event organised for Subaru fans. We love the location of the rally, where one can not only compete on excellent tracks, but also take a boat ride or have a short holiday. Yet, we are primarily looking forward to the competition, hoping for a lot of sport excitement - said Wojtek Chuchała before the rally.
