Grupa LOTOS’ position in the main ranking was based on the criterion of revenue, which in 2012 came in at PLN 33.111bn. Grupa LOTOS has also been ranked high (fifth) among the 100 largest exporters. In 2012, the Group posted exports revenue in excess of PLN 8.9bn. Commenting on the ranking, Cezary Kowanda wrote that one of the factors behind the Company’s sustainable growth and high position was its stable management.
Since 2002, Grupa LOTOS has been led by the same CEO, Paweł Olechnowicz, who has successfully transformed it from a regional refinery into an international player. Over that time, the Company has jumped from the sixth to the second position in the Polityka list. Since 2002, its revenue has expanded by 522%, while its net profit has grown by a staggering 937%.
It might be worth noting that in the second ranking of companies whose CSR policies adhere to the ISO 26000 standard, Grupa LOTOS has been awarded a Golden CSR Leaf by the Polityka weekly and international auditing firm PwC. A year ago, it received a silver award.
