Grupa LOTOS has been distinguished as 'The Best Employer 2013' in the Large Companies category. This is the 8th time that this prestigious title, given by AON Hewitt, has been awarded in Poland, and the 20th time globally.
The 'Best Employer' survey was based on a complex methodology, encompassing, among other things, questionnaires measuring employee satisfaction and engagement, as well as an assessment of the HR practices in place at a given company. Additionally, the study took into account the opinions of senior management personnel on HR issues, as well as crucial marketing and market challenges. At Grupa LOTOS, the survey was carried out in mid-2013.
In the words of the President of the Grupa LOTOS S.A. Management Board, Paweł Olechnowicz: "We are proud to have been named 'The Best Employer 2013'. It serves to show that the Grupa LOTOS philosophy, which is that the company's employees are part of its success, is right. Any modern business organisation, including Grupa LOTOS, needs to understand the importance of its own employees. It is their dedication, ingenuity and sense of responsibility for the company's development that have allowed us to attain the leading position in our market and pursue our strategic projects with great success. The survey, I am happy to see, has shown our ability to reconcile good financial performance with regard for the well-being of our employees."
As demonstrated by previous surveys, 'Best Employers' are marked by better economic performance than other, similar companies, and this is measured by a variety of economic indicators. The survey evaluates the level of conscious effort made to create a structured organisation, based on modern management practices and owing its competitive edge to use of its employees' dedication.
“Our main goal was to conduct a survey of our employees’ engagement and satisfaction, to get to know their opinions, and to define the areas that could be improved. Participation in the contest was an additional element, thanks to which we could compare ourselves to other employers. This award is particularly important for us, because it was our own employees who were evaluating us,” said Joanna Tyszka, Head of the Human Resources Office of Grupa LOTOS S.A. “The survey's results show that over 70% of our employees think that their work is engaging and satisfying, their tasks are fulfilling, and that they gladly identify themselves with our company. Their evaluation gives us new energy to make further improvements, particularly in the areas where our employees have seen a need and have suggested new solutions.”
‘The Best Employers’ survey is conducted in Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Latin America, and its results are published in the most prominent magazines and newspapers. The results of the more than 30 surveys conducted since the 1990s show a significant relationship between increasingly effective employee management and improvements in a company’s financial performance.
