Durable and highly modified MODBIT HiMA bitumen will be used on one of the city's main streets. The use of this modern technology on the renovated Kartuska Street will extend the road's lifetime and improve its acoustic comfort. Drivers and residents will benefit from a durable road that is quieter by 2-5 decibels. The investment is in the final stage and is scheduled for completion in mid-December this year.

At the end of October, the A.C.B. Latvia completed reconstruction of runways at the Palanga airport in the western part of Lithuania. The modernisation was intended to increase the carrying capacity and improve the safety of the runway at the airport. As part of the construction works, 83,000 tonnes of mineral and bitumen mixtures were laid. The surface works at the airport required fast pace, mobilisation of the contractor and reliability of deliveries. The high-quality bitumen was supplied by LOTOS Asfalt.

Modernisation works on the taxiways at the Warsaw Chopin Airport lasted over a month and were completed in the second half of June. As part of the works, the wearing course of the airport surface and navigation lighting were replaced. As part of the project, MODBIT polymer-modified bitumen was used, whose properties made it possible to achieve a durable and rough surface that meets the highest standards of safety.

The key plant constructed as part of the Grupa LOTOS EFRA Project, namely the Coker Complex consisting of the Delayed Coking Unit (DCU) and auxiliary installations, has reached the Ready For Start-Up (RFSU) status.

On April 26th 2019, the Supervisory Board of LOTOS Asfalt appointed Olgierd Buchocki as Member of the Management Board (with effect from May 6th 2019).

Between March 13th and March 18th 2019, Grupa LOTOS and PGNiG completed two LNG commercial bunkering operations for seagoing ships. These were the first such operations carried out at the sea ports of Gdańsk and Gdynia. LOTOS and PGNiG are set to continue cooperation in LNG bunkering as this will enhance the competitiveness of Polish ports and promote the use of LNG, as an environmentally friendly fuel, in the Baltic Sea.

LOTOS has reached an agreement with KT-Kinetics Technology, the main contractor on the EFRA Project. According to a draft annex, the delayed coking unit (DCU) is to reach the RFSU (ready for start up) status by May 31st 2019. The target economic and financial effects of the EFRA facilities are expected to show in the Group’s consolidated financial results for Q4 2019.

The reconstruction of a runway at Vilnius Airport carried out by a Latvian company called ABC was completed as planned. LOTOS Asfalt company provided within 10 days over 2 thousand tonnes of the most technologically advanced modified bitumen MODBIT 45/80-55 for the reconstruction of the runway of 2.515 metres in length.

The progress of the EFRA Project to construct a huge complex of units in the Grupa LOTOS refinery reached a halfway point taking into account the design, supply as well as construction and assembly work. A huge crane has placed the largest and heaviest reactors and distillation columns a top high foundations. Among the gigantic elements put in place, the heaviest are the hydrowax distillation column weighing in at 300 tonnes  and two coke drums weighing 290 tonnes each. Heavy lifting, the most spectacular task under the EFRA Project, is finished.Most construction work was entrusted to Polish workers.

Grupa LOTOS will upgrade the four sulfur production units operating at its refinery in Gdańsk. This will enable the refinery to desulfurise 900 thousand tonnes per year of fuels recovered, under the EFRA Project, from high-sulfur heavy residue remaining after crude oil processing.

With a symbolic cornerstone laying ceremony at its refinery in Gdańsk, Grupa LOTOS S.A. marked the start of construction works on a deep oil conversion complex under the EFRA Project. The total cost of the project is estimated at ca. PLN 2.3bn.

Grupa LOTOS S.A. has embarked on its new project to expand the refinery’s deep conversion capacities (the EFRA Programme). Under the programme, LOTOS Asfalt, a company of the LOTOS Group, executed an agreement with KT - Kinetics Technology S.p.A. (KT) for the engineering, procurement of equipment and materials, construction and hand-over of three key units of the project. The value of the contract with KT is PLN 1.26bn.
