After a nearly two-month break, the racing season for the rally drivers sponsored by the LOTOS Group is beginning to heat up again. On August 1st, first up will be Robert Kubica and Maciej Baran, who will be burning rubber in the WRC-2 category of the Rally Finland, the eighth round of the World Rally Championship.
Grupa LOTOS has qualified as a national finalist in this year's edition of the prestigious European Business Awards competition. We have been nominated for a Ruban d’Honneur award in the Millicom Award for Environmental and Corporate Sustainability category. 526 companies from 31 European countries are vying for the awards. Scientists from the Marine Station of the Gdańsk University’s Institute of Oceanography in Hel have released four young seals into the wild in late June this year. Three of them - Łodzik, Łacha and Ławica - were born at the station, while the fourth one - Kołobrzeżek - was found, already ringed, on a beach in Kołobrzeg.
Today Air BP, the aviation fuel services division of BP, has signed an agreement with Grupa Lotos to form a new joint venture tomanage the supply, logistics and marketing of aviation fuel in Poland.
The Poles achieved an unprecedented result in the World Rally Championship. For the first time ever, two Polish drivers were in the top ten of the WRC rally. With an over four-minute advantage, Robert Kubica won in the WRC 2 category of Rally Sardegna, taking the ninth place in the general classifications. Also Michał Kościuszko from the LOTOS Rally Team performed well in a new car, securing the seventh place in the WRC.
The 7th round of the World Rally Championship – Rally Sardegna – begins next Friday. For Michał Kościuszko and Maciek Szczepaniak of the LOTOS Rally Team, this will be their first start with the M-Sport Ford Fiesta RS WRC. The Italian rally will also be the third WRC rally in which Robert Kubica and Maciek Baran, another team sponsored by LOTOS Group, will be running in the WRC 2 category.
The second edition of the DEVELOPMENT INITIATION FORUM was held on June 11th – 12th. The Forum is a unique initiative for both the Pomerania region and the entire country. It is a meeting place for representatives of non-government organisations, local governments and business. The goal of the Forum is to initiate inter-sectoral cooperation to promote the development of the Gdańsk Province. Grupa LOTOS is a Partner of the Forum.
On Friday, June 14th 2013, Michał Kościuszko and Maciek Szczepaniak will hit the road in their Ford Fiesta RS WRC for the first time. Testing will take place in Greystoke in the north of England, near M-Sport's headquarters.
